To inform you, answer your questions, and contact you after you have filled out a contact form on this site, we process the following categories of personal data: identification data (such as title, last name, first name, date of birth), contact details (such as address, phone and/or mobile number, email), and any personal data you may share with us so that we can properly handle your inquiry.
Our employees only have access to your personal data when it is necessary to answer your question or to provide you with the requested information. They are bound by a duty of confidentiality and are required to treat the information you share with them as confidential. The Ministry of Defence has implemented technical and organizational measures to prevent your data from being accessed by unauthorized persons or from being destroyed or altered.
You have the right to access, rectify, object to, and erase your personal data. To exercise your rights, you can contact the Data Protection Officer – DPO Defence, via email (dpo@mil.be) or in writing (Data Protection Officer – Kabinet CHOD, Everestraat 1, 1140 Evere). Please include a scan or a copy of your identity card (front and back) with your signature so that we can verify your identity. Your request will be processed within 30 calendar days from the date of receipt. If the complexity requires it or the department receives an excessive number of requests, the period may be extended to 60 days.
Without prejudice to other possibilities of administrative or legal appeal, you also have the right to file a complaint with the Data Protection Authority (Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, contact@apd-gba.be) and to bring a case before the court if you believe your rights are not being respected.
