Belgian Medical Service

We watch over the physical and mental health of our personnel. We do this before, during and after military missions, both in Belgium and abroad.

We do everything possible to guarantee the success of the missions of all other forces and to bring our men and women home safely. To achieve this, we have the most advanced medical equipment and versatile evacuation resources at our disposal.

  • We provide medical support to military personnel during operations. Our medical care adheres to Belgian healthcare standards throughout the entire treatment pathway: from initial care by first responders, doctors, and surgical teams, through tactical evacuation, to the strategic evacuation of wounded and sick personnel back to a hospital in Belgium.

This task largely falls to our operational units, with support from specialised staff of the Queen Astrid Military Hospital, the 5th Medical Intervention Element in Nivelles and the competences of the members of our Medical Technical Corps (doctors, pharmacists, dentists, veterinarians) and all our medical personnel.
